		<description>I live in a small community, and there are no gyms for me to work out at so I&#039;ve started doing Pilates videos, and I walk or run on the local trails, depending on my mood. I love to run -- it makes me feel so alive and free! Why I wanted to blog about it: I wanted others to see that we&#039;re all human. It&#039;s okay to make mistakes. It&#039;s okay to stumble and fall. I want to be a positive influence and show people that they can be sexy, fabulously fit 40-somethings even when battling obesity . It&#039;s also a check mechanism for me. If figured if I posted my weight and measurements on a fairly regular basis then I would be forced to stick with it. I&#039;m not one to admit defeat. The best part of blogging is: The therapeutic qualities in writing about my successes and failures and seeing the real progress even at times it feels like nothing is happening are what keeps me going. Best comment I&#039;ve received: &quot;Whoa! Look at you! You&#039;re so skinny!&quot; That was from someone who hadn&#039;t seen me in about a year. The other best comment was from a woman who also hadn&#039;t seen me in about a year: &quot;My goodness! I didn&#039;t know who you were!&quot; And the best comment was from my mother, &quot;You have a waist again!&quot; What&#039;s next for my blog: I hope to turn my trials and errors in weight loss into a book. I want to help others realize that cookie-cutter diets don&#039;t work. It&#039;s a real commitment and a &quot;what next after I reach this goal&quot; plan to changing your lifestyle that works best. Melissa&#039;s next big challenge will be running a 5k at the end of April.</description>
